Are diverse people absent at Tea Parties because they have trouble identifying with it?

I went to the Dallas Tea Party this past Saturday, just out of curiousity and a lot of the people speaking kept talking about God and stuff. I talked with one of the speakers (some youtube guy) after he was done about how it's *HARD* to identify with the "Real Americans" seem to peg themselves as, not just because I'm black, but because... it's sooooo anti-anything-liberal (I'm center-left)-- anyways I'm rambling. I asked him that, and the first thing he had to say to me was "Are you a Christian?"-- And that's how the majority of our conversation went... talk about Christianity, and it just makes me wonder even more how diverse people can identify with it.
