ATX power supply help!!!?

I was wondering if i could jump off the +12v wire that comes from the power supply and goes to the ATX plug on the motherboard and run it to a toggle switch to power 3 fans .The reason for this is i want to be able to power the fans on and off if i want without turning on the PC? i know its weird but can it be done? Thanx for any help!
