Does the outcome of a match determine how much a wrestler get paid?

I've always been curious about this because you have some male and female competitors who are highly skilled at their jobs yet still manage to lose to underskilled performers. For example years ago in WWE Triple H was upset many times by an upcoming Shelton Benjamin. Now I know that this was just a part of a storyline but i'd like to know if a wrestlers wage is affects but the events in a storyline?
