Questions regarding tadpoles sold in popular pet stores?

I recently set up a fish tank and found myself wandering through the fish department at the local pet store fish section. They are selling tadpoles, which did not have any added info on the place card. I was wondering how big of a frog/toad will the standard tadpole become, and likewise, how big of a tank is recommended for it? Thank you!
