Why is it in 2007 My Mom and family was telling me to get a job so I went with my cousin Paula to Childrens?

Hospital to apply for a job and my mom was so angry with RAGE like for REALS like wait weren't you telling me to get a job I don't understand? so ya why was she so Mad that I was with my cousin Paula to get a Job! I don't understand please clarify! Thank you! =)
